How to delete your account

The fastest way to delete your Dashlight Fuel account is from inside the app:

1. Open Dashlight Fuel (customer app) or Dashlight Driver and sign in.
2. Tap Profile (customer) or Account (driver).
3. Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
4. Enter your current password and type DELETE MY ACCOUNT to confirm.
5. Tap Permanently delete account.

Your account, vehicles, addresses, saved payment methods, and push notification tokens are removed immediately. We also ask Stripe to delete the Customer record on our side so saved cards detach in their vault too. A confirmation email is sent to the address on file.

If you can’t access the app

If you’ve lost access to your phone or your account, email privacy@dashlightfuel.com from the address tied to your Dashlight Fuel account, with the subject line “Delete my account”. Include the phone number on the account so we can match the request to the right user. We confirm receipt within 24 hours and complete deletion within 30 days. If we cannot verify the request (for example, the request comes from a different email than the account email), we will reply with the verification steps we need before proceeding.

What gets deleted

• Your account (name, email, phone, password hash).
• Saved vehicles and addresses.
• Saved payment methods (we ask Stripe to delete the Customer record on our side).
• Push notification tokens linked to the account.
• Operational logs tied to the account, after the retention period below.

What we keep, and why

Some records we retain after account deletion because we are legally required to:

• Order and payment records: kept for seven years for federal and state tax compliance and to resolve any payment dispute. The records are anonymized (your name and contact information are stripped) so they cannot be tied back to you beyond what tax law requires.
• Fuel-handling regulatory records: a small set of delivery records (date, location, gallons, fuel grade) are retained as required by Tennessee and federal hazardous-materials regulations.
• Security and abuse logs: retained for 13 months to investigate fraud or abuse that may surface after deletion.

After the retention period, even these residual records are deleted or anonymized beyond recoverability.

Other ways to limit data

If you want to keep your account but reduce the data we hold:

• Remove saved vehicles and addresses in the customer app.
• Disable push notifications in your device settings.
• Disable Face ID / fingerprint unlock in the customer app to delete the encrypted refresh token from your device.
• Email us at privacy@dashlightfuel.com to request a portable export of your account data.
